Weekend Wrap Up!

What a great weekend... Here are just a few of the highlights:

  • Varsity volleyball team won their sub-state match on Thursday night and are headed to the state tournament tomorrow and Thursday! Looking forward to sharing in these next two days with them and hoping they bring the state title back to the school.
  • Varsity football team won their last area game on Friday clinching a spot in the state playoffs and hosting the first round. So proud of these young men!
  • Had a FABULOUS time in Tuscaloosa this weekend pulling for the Tide. Looking forward to November 5 when the LSU Tigers roll into town!
  • Received my new houndstooth jacket from Zulilly.com! I am in love with it.
  • Ordered my very own Erin Condren Life Planner! Can't wait for it to get here. Already bought my new colored pens to begin filling it in when it arrives.
Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post! I am writing this from my iPhone. : )

Have a great week!

The Life I Planned...

These past few weeks I've been dealing with being "content" in my life and resting securely in knowing that God does have a plan for my life and he hasn't forgotten me. A dear friend emailed me this poem this weekend and I sobbed as I read it. I've started trying to live the life I planned instead of believing His plans for me are the best! What an awesome reminder of his love for me...

Blessings!
Paige

The Life I Planned

Has someone seen the life I planned?

It seems it's been misplaced.

I've looked in every corner;

It's lost without a trace.

I've found one I don't recognize --

Things missing that were dear;

Promises I'd hoped to keep,

And dreams I'd dreamed aren't here.

Faces I had planned to see,

Hands I planned to hold;

Now absent in the pictures;

Not the way I told.

Has someone seen the life I planned?

Did it get thrown away?

God took my hand from searching;

Then I heard Him say --

"Child, your ears have never heard,

Your eyes have never seen,

Eternal plans I have for you

Are more than you could dream.

You long to walk by sight,

But I'm teaching eyes to see;

I know what I'm doing --

'Till then, you must believe.

He's done so much, I felt ashamed

To know He heard my moans.

To think I'd trade in all He's done

For plans made on my own.

I wept over His faithfulness

And how He'd proved Himself;

How He'd gone beyond my dreams

And said to Him myself,

"No, my ears have never heard,

My eyes have never seen,

Eternal plans You have for me

Are more than I could dream.

"Yes, I long to walk by sight

But You're teaching eyes to see;

You know what You're doing --

'Till then, I must believe.

I felt His great compassion --

Mercy unrestrained.

He let me mourn my losses

And showed to me my gains.

I offered Him my future

And released to Him my past.

I traded in my dreams

For a plan He said would last.

I get no glimpse ahead;

No certainties at all,

Except the presence of the One

Who will not let me fall.

Are you also searching

For a life you planned yourself?

Have you looked in every corner?

Have you checked on every shelf?

Child, your ears have never heard,

Your eyes have never seen,

Eternal plans He has for you

Are more than you could dream.

Perhaps you long to walk by sight,

But He's teaching eyes to see;

He knows what He is doing --

Child, step out and believe.

Finally Friday...

I am so looking forward to a weekend of no plans, no set agendas and the ability to rest. Don't get me wrong - I love the hustle of the fall with football games, tailgating, school activities and weekends with friends. But, I also love my rest! Looking forward to some great quiet time, a big cup of coffee, napping on the couch and staying in my oversized sweatshirt all weekend!

Congratulations to Lauren who was the winner of my giveaway from UPrinting.com! Enjoy your 250 customized labels.

I participated in a blog swap hosted by Beth (Living a Goddess Life) and Miss Angie (My So Called Chaos)

My swap partner was Holly from XOXO Holly. She has a darling pink and brown blog. Go over and say hello to her if you get a chance!

Holly sent me a cute Halloween coffee mug, orange hot chocolate, fun halloween sprinkles, honey and lemon green tea and a yummy candy corn candle from Yankee Candle. I loved my swap package! She sent me some of my favorite things. Thanks, Holly!

My sweet little next door neighbor (she seriously is like a second grandmother) got my package from the post man when he delivered it. She went over to get it from him because she saw him standing at my door waiting for me to come and was *shaking* my package as he waited! As she said, "It made me so mad to see him disrespecting your package!" She is convinced he broke my candle! It will still burn and smelled so yummy last night!

Hope you all have a happy weekend!

WILW

I am so excited to be home early enough from work to cook dinner and blog! Since it's Wednesday I thought I would again take part in "What I'm Loving Wednesday!"

Here are a few things I am loving this week...

My new "Candy Corn" Yankee Candle...

That I scored two $50 E-Gift Cards from ErinCondren.com this week via One King's Lane. I can't wait to order a life planner for myself and gift the other to my sister to order one.

My new broiler pan... Eating healthy has been so much easier for me this time around. I needed a new broiler pan for several recipes and this small one if the perfect size for me.

My two new lip pencils from Merle Norman in Mocha Honey and Chocolate Mousse.

These yummy granola things from Nature Valley! The perfect treat after a good eating day.

What are you loving this week? Go link up over at Jamie's and see what others are loving this week too!

Tuesday Tidbits

We had two days off from school and as much as I've enjoyed the break I am ready to be back in the office. I am not a "suzy-homemaker" and do not enjoy being domestic on my off days. I would rather be running wild at the office - checking emails, answering phone calls and planning events!

Just a couple of things I wanted to share with you on this Tuesday evening -

  • A shop I ordered some mailing labels from a couple of years ago for gifts has reopened with a new website. Go check out Bugaboo Announcements.
  • My sister has an Erin Condren Life Planner on her Christmas Wish List. We normally only spend $25 on each other so I was so excited to come across this incredible deal over at One Kings Lane. Right now you can go buy a $50 All Occasion E-Gift Card for $25. That's a steal! There are also deals on there for Holiday Photo Cards, Mailing Labels, Personalized Lucite Trays, Custom Gift Labels. The deals end this Friday so head over now and take advantage of these offers. I just bought two of the E-Gift Cards as Christmas gifts (and I stayed within my shopping budget)! (As a side note... Affiliate links used.)
  • In March I started really watching what I ate and added in consistent exercise. Today I am down 28.4 lbs with 10 lbs left to reach my goal weight by December. I am beginning a new food plan and workout plan tomorrow under the guidance of a personal trainer. We met tonight to review the plans and can I just tell you I am scared to death?! Not of the eating part, I can handle that, but the workout is intense! I believe I can do it and will not quit, but I am a little overwhelmed at the program. No pain, no gain I suppose! : ) Say a little prayer for me..
Sorry for the lack of posts lately (well, the past three months). Life has been a little overwhelming and the blog took a back seat. I hope to be more consistent now and get back into a better blogging routine. I miss those who have become my friends and hope to get around to visit you more often.

Have a great week!
